We'd like to thank each of you who applied to join the design team, thank you for taking the time to send your links and emailing us. It's such a shame that we cannot ask you all to join us, blogland is full to bursting with talented crafters!

At this time we have room for 3 new teamies, so I hope you will join us in welcoming Jen, Lizy & Steph to Sketch Saturday!
Their first DT card will be on this blog on the 18th February, which gives them time to settle in and create. We're so looking forward to working with these ladies :)

Hello Sketch Saturday fans!
We have a new design team member! :)

We are very happy to announce that Faye has agreed to join our design team.
Faye only just missed out on joining us at our last DT call, so I'm delighted that she has said yes, i'm a huge fan of her cards and she takes part in our challenges every week, and now she will continue to do that... but as a member of our DT - YIPPEE! :)

Faye's first DT card will be for tomorrows challenge, so please stop by tomorrow to see her wonderful creation and to check out our new sketch challenge.

Security warning message

Hi everyone, it has been brought to my attention that some of you are having security warning messages when clicking on some photos and this weeks sketch. The message is something like this...

This website has been reported as unsafe
4.bp.blogspot.com  
We recommend that you do not continue to this website.
Go to my home page instead
This website has been reported to Microsoft for containing threats to your computer that might reveal personal or financial information.

It seems to only happen to those of you who use internet explorer and
the error message appears only for images stored at http://4.bp.blogspot.com/
Any images that are stored on other blogspot servers (1.bp, 2.bp, 3.bp) are fine.
Can I just reassure you all, that there is no problem with SS, none that i'm aware of anyway. It seems to be just a problem with IE users and mainly those using Windows 8.

I've done a bit of checking on this and it seems that Microsoft are claiming that one of the blogger servers where the photos are stored is malware, which it clearly isnt. Their spam detection software is falsely marking the 4.bp server as spam.

It only seems to be affecting Microsoft IE, it's a fault with their (Microsoft) detection engine. Nothing that anyone at Google/Blogger can do until Microsoft fix the problem at their end.
This happened with bloggers 3.bp server too until Microsoft fixed the issue.

This weeks sketch was on the 4.bp server, I have since uploaded the sketch again and it is now on the 1.bp server so this message shouldn't appear.

Thank you to those challengers who alerted this problem to me, I don't use IE myself so I didn't get the error messages.

25th December 2010 - Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Sorry... there isn't a sketch this week, the Design Team are having a well earned rest to spend time with their friends & loved ones and enjoy the festivities, and we hope that you will be doing the same too!

We would like to express our gratitude to all of our sponsors and guest designers throughout 2010, as well as thanking each and everyone of you, our fantastic challengers for your support of our challenge blog, thank you so much for taking part each week.

We will be back next week, on January 1st 2011 with a brand new sketch for you!
We kick off the year with our DT week, and a new guest designer too! :)

It is with great sadness that I tell you that due to personal reasons and a heavy workload that Lena has decided to leave our design team :(

Lena, as you all know, makes the most stunning cards and gift items, and we will miss seeing her awesome work each week,
Tomorrow's challenge will be her last DT work for us, but I can tell you, it is another beauty!

It may be her last DT card, but we hope that Lena will join in as a challenger now and then when she has the time to do so.

Please welcome our newest Design Team members :)

We are delighted to announce that we have 2 new Design Team members! :)

Jill Sharp (Jilli) has been a regular challenger to this blog, and produces the most adorable and amusing cards, we are very much looking forward to seeing her DT work for us.

Lena Katrine as some of you may have noticed, was our guest designer in March this year. Lena not only makes stunning cards, but she also makes spectacular boxes, bags and gifts as well as layouts, so we are all in for a treat to see how she interprets the sketches into those :)

Jilli & Lena will have their first DT work for us next week! :)

Debbie says bye bye :(

From happy news (see previous post) to sad news for us.
Debbie has decided to step down from her DT post with us :(
She hasn't taken this decision lightly, but feels that it is the right thing to do for her & her family.
The good news is that she won't disappear completely, she will continue to make cards and post on her blog, the only difference will be that she can enjoy her crafting without the pressure of deadlines which go hand in hand with a design team post.
All of us here at Sketch Saturday would like to wish Debbie & her family all the very best, and thank her for her outstanding contribution to this challenge blog.
Debbie we will miss you, take care hunni, and we'll see you around blogland xx

We say Bye Bye to Louise :(

Sadly Louise has decided to leave the design team :(
We are very sad to see her go, she makes the most beautiful cards and is a lovely caring person too.
She didn't make the decision lightly, but she needs to spend more time with her family when she gets time away from work. She is a very busy Mom.

We wish you all the best Louise, thank you for your contribution to Sketch Saturday.

Another sad day for Sketch Saturday :(

I'm very sad today, now that I need to tell you all that Sandra has decided to leave our design team :(
Sandra has thought long and hard about this decision and although she doesn't want to leave us, she feels she must as she is a very busy Mum and now that her 2 youngest have started school, she is a lot more busier than she realised, and of course her children are her priority, we all understand this.
She chose to let me know while we are selecting the new DT line-up as it will be easier to choose one extra DT member at this time, even though I decided to choose 2 extra members instead, as the entries are so excellent!
I asked Sandra to help us choose the new DT members, which she agreed to do, and I very much appreciate this, as it's a tough job!

This coming Saturday's challenge (#70) will be Sandra's last DT card for Sketch Saturday :(
We were all very sorry to hear that Sandra is leaving, but she has promised to keep in touch, and will take part in our challenges when she can. She will be eligible to win the prizes now too! :)

Sandra... we will all miss you terribly, THANK YOU for everything you have done which has made Sketch Saturday as popular as it is today.

We're looking for new DT members!!

The deadline has now passed, thank you all SO MUCH for your entries, choosing is going to be tough!
Hopefully, by Friday (18th) we will have a list of the 12 people chosen to make another card for us, please watch this space! :)

Would you like to be a member of our Design Team?
You would?.... Great!..... here's what we'd like you to do...

Please make a card using the following sketch

This DT call will run in 2 parts.

The first part will be to make a card as stated above, you can use any theme / colours / extra embellishments too if you like, but we must see the sketch in your design, even if you have rotated the sketch, that's fine too, but the whole sketch must be rotated, not just certain elements of it.
Then we, the design team, will choose our favourites and whittle you down to just 12 entrants.
The lucky 12 will go through to the second part, and I will let you know what to do at the time so as not to cause confusion now.

So if you want to join our little family, please submit your entry for the first part of this DT call by 8.00 pm (UK time) Monday 14th September.

Only ONE entry per applicant please, if you submit more than 1 then we will take your first comment/card as your entry, no exceptions, sorry.

All entries MUST have a direct, clickable link to the card itself (not just your blog), and be under this post, not on any other post.

As a DT member, we will require you to have a blog & to make a card every week using the sketches provided each week, although we do understand if real-life prevents you from doing this from time to time.

Change of logo code

Hi everyone,
Just a quickie to let you all know that I have changed the code for our logo.
The image is exactly the same, but where I host it is different.
so if you do have our logo displayed on your own blog or website (thank you!)
I would be very grateful if you could change the code to the new one.
The code is in the sidebar >>> (please scroll down)
all you need to do is add it to a new gadget (html/javascript)
and remove the old code.

If you host the image yourself from your own site or from your own photobucket account then you don't need to do anything. If in doubt, please use the code in the sidebar.

I will be removing the image, along with others I am changing, from my old account over the next few days/weeks.
